Personally, with twitter and blogging, I'm caught between finding it really useful and terribly narcissistic. I've found some great advice via artists/writers/talent liasons tweets and blogs. I also can receive massive amounts of irrelevant information via these networks as well, perhaps from those like myself that once believed their every waking thought was a golden nugget from the El Dorado of human experience. Hence, I've hesitated getting twitter or a workblog for the fear of it becoming terribly self-indulgent or me never keeping up with it. However, it is a cheap and easy way to get your work noticed and show your process to fans/publishers/employers.
I sort of use the dA journal here as a sort of dumping ground of experiences and what I'm doing for my own reference (they say write what you know, so I'm supposing it's helpful to remember what you know). dA's journal interface is fairly limited as to what it can do, so something more flexible may be in order. Also, not great for networking as let's face it, my views/hits are somewhat limited.
How do you guys feel about the new networks for the creative industry being spread via twitter, workblogs, facebook, myspace, etc? Is it helpful, or just another thing to keep up with?

Come down and eat chicken with me beautiful, it's so dark!
And you should totally upload your half of the art trade so I can love it on dA as well. <3
